Yoga Month - If yoga is a personal hobby or a product/service you offer infuse yoga themed topics into your content calendar. Share you favourites poses, flows or yoga related products for themes likes stress relief, sleep aid, muscle building etc. Utilize reels and video content whenever possible.
Pain Awareness Month - Feature your pain relief products, consider doing a weekly shout out or 'staff picks' for the entire month. Service based providers can spin it at 'pain relief', using posts to identify pain points for their customers and talk about how their services solve that problem and relieve that pain point for them.
Fall - try switching up your content to give it some fall vibes, maybe you change your primary colour of text in posts etc.
Week Long Ideas
Back to School - (Sept 3 - 6) - back to school means back to routines. It often feels like a 'New Year' for people and is a great time to promote products or services that can help create new routines or habits, or simply make life easier for individuals, families, business owners etc. There's plenty of potential to turn this into a month long topic or challenge and create something free to share to grow your email list.
Suicide Prevention Week (Sept 8 - 14) - share local resources for suicide prevention (ex. hotlines, support groups etc.). You can also share (if you're open to it) personal stories or your connection to the suicide prevention mission.
Keep Kids Creative Week (Sept 22 - 28) - Offer different activities for parents, try to showcase your kids products in action in different situations like sensory activities, car rides, outdoor plat etc. Share as many different ways to use your products as you can and include CTA's to purchase.
Oktoberfest (Sept 21 - Oct 6) - is about all things beer, food and German. It's a great sales time if you have products or services realted to these categories. If not, it can be a great opportunity to talk about a passion of yours and create a connection with your followers. If you love trying local IPA's share a round up of your favourite small brewers.
Ideas for (Almost) Everyday of the Month
September 1: World Letter Writing Day - write an email or social media post like a letter sharing your appreciate for your audience and thank them for being in your corner.
September 2: Labour Day/Long Weekend - wishing people a happy long weekend should only be done in your stories, but go ahead and snap a pic of your long weekend celebrations and share it to your stories with a 'happy long weekend' sticker. This will create more connection with your audience than a graphic designed in Canva that people will skip past.
September 3: National Another Look Unlimited Day - repurpose a post or reel that performed really well, you can copy and paste it as is or make small tweaks to improve it but the key is to not spend too much time on it.
September 4: Spice Blend Day - this is very specific but if you are a business that sells spice blends make a sales post about it!
September 5: International Day of Charity - if your business donates a percent of your proceeds or you have a organization your regularly volunteer with today's the day to share the story behind your desire to do this and invite your followers to get involved or donate as well.
September 6: Read A Book Day - Share a favourite read in your stories and ask your followers to comment their thoughts if they've read it Or give away a free chapter or a sepcial bonus if your followers buy your book today. You could do a chapter reading as an Instagram live as well, that's a fun way to create a personal connection with your audience.
September 11: Make Your Bed Day - take a video of you making your bed and use it as b-roll. You can post it today or save it for later when you need a clip to add text over top of.
September 12: Day of Encouragement - uplift your followers by sharing a motivaional quote that inspires you, or share a personal stpry of trial and how you've overcome it to get where you are today. This builds trust with your followers and can motivate them to hire.purchase from you.
September 12: Video Game Day - this is another great b-roll idea, record a clip of you playing your favourite video game and use it for a text based reel.
September 15: Online Learning Day - create a carousel post or reel teaching your audience something new, you can use a hook like "if you're still doing __, you're missing out/getting left behind" and then share what they should be doing instead.
September 17: International Country Music Day - create a custom playlist of your favourite country tunes and share them with your audince in an email, this helps your audeince get to know you. Or create a reel and use a country music song you love as the audio.
September 21: World Gratitude Day - share 3 things you're grateful for as a reel or carousel post to connect with your audience on a personal level. You can adjust the gratitude to '3 things you're grateful for in your business' if you want to add value in a more specific way. September 24: Punctuation Day - use this hook in your reel today. You HAVE to be doing __. PERIOD. Share what your audience needs to be doing, this hooks works fro product or service businesses and can be used as authority building (info only) or can be turned into a sales post by adding a CTA to learn more or purchase a product.
September 25: World Dream Day - story time, share the dream you had when you started your business. What impact are you trying to make? Get personal and share an update on how it's going with your mission.
September 27: World Tourism Day - this is great for realtors, or destination businesses whose ideal clients are tourists. You can create a 'how to find us video' of you driving to your location or share a reel or carousel post of the 'Top 5 Places to Visit in __" and share why you love them so much.
September 29: Coffee Day - will reels making coffee ever get old? Shoot some b-roll of your morning coffee routine, add some text and music and use it as an educational or authority building post
September 30: International Podcast Day - shamelessly promote your podcast! Consider doing a podcast roundup of your 5 most popular episodes. Or share podcasts that you listen to regularly and why you love them. And if you haven't already, we sure to check out my podcast, Go Get Great 🎧
Remember to only use the ideas that relate the best to your business and try to limit the number of posts you're creating for these National holidays to a few. they should be a fun way to shake up your content mix but shouldn't be the foundation of your strategy!
